This will be my list of resolutions for the new year. I'm making it public so if you see me violating any of these, I give you permission to hit me on the head. LOL
1. I bought these in May of this year:
Fast forward seven months later, and those rubber shoes are still in the box, not even used once. I even bought socks and track pants to match those shoes, and both are also still unused. I had every intention of starting a workout routine this year, but those plans went kaput. My usual excuse is that I've been so busy and I couldn't find the time to fit exercise in my schedule. Now I realize that I'm not getting any younger, it's time to start thinking about my health and well-being. Starting next year, I'll find a way to use those shoes. Visits to the gym are not my thing (and frankly, that'll just be another expense), so I'll probably keep it simple...walking/jogging around the village with our dogs in tow should be a nice place to start. And maybe I can convince my friends who are experts in running (hello, Yvette!) to teach me the basics.
2. I'm addicted to Coke. I treat it as a substitute for water. That can't be good for my health, or for my waistline. So I've vowed to reduce my Coke intake next year, I'll start with a maximum of one Coke in a can per day, and gradually reduce it from there. That shouldn't be too hard, since I have already managed to abstain from Coke (and other types of soda) for a whole month once upon a time.
3. It goes without saying that I need to lose weight.
4. You know you shop too much when you suddenly unearth unused things that you already forgot you even purchased. That happens to me a LOT of times.... I'm looking for something to wear and I see a blouse that's been sitting so long in my clothes drawer, with the tags still attached! I won't promise to ban myself from shopping in 2011...that's just impossible. I think a more realistic goal is to TRY to use everything that I've bought...which means that if I need a white blouse, my first instinct shouldn't be to hit the mall, but to search my closet. That applies to shoes, bags and beauty/bath products too.
5. Speaking of closet....I really really need to do something about that mess. I shouldn't wait for the day I discover a rat in there. Eeek.
| My shoes are everywhere. Yikes. |
6. And finally... I need to start crossing things off my bucket list. I should be able to take care of "go on a diet, stick to it and lose 20 pounds" easily. I am now working on "speak a foreign language fluently".
On that note, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy new year !

Uy, ang laki ng closet! I would love to have that shoe rack. Let's organize it! You know, put them in boxes with labels and arrange according to color/heel height/occasion...
