From UK, With Love

After months of dilly-dallying (should I buy or not?), I finally own a Cath Kidston bag:

And I didn't even have to buy it.  Thanks to my super generous high school buddy, screenwriter and director extraordinaire Raz, who gave the bag to me as a Christmas gift.  He called at 2:00 a.m. one December night to ask what bag I wanted (imagine if I didn't take the call? LOL).  He was inside the Cath Kidston store, which happened to be right next to his school.  Awesome.

I picked the Bunch Flowers Day Bag (same as Gladi's...sorry Gladi pareho talaga tayo ng taste) because the style seems perfect for a weekend out....not too big, not too small, just the right size.  And the blue goes perfectly with jeans, my staple weekend outfit.  My mother says the bag is so British (whatever that means, haha).

Gladi already wrote a very detailed account of How to Spot a Fake Cath Kidston bag, but here's another telltale sign.  The lining of authentic Cath Kidston bags is the same fabric as the outside of the bag.  The only difference is the outside fabric is oilcloth (coated fabric), while the lining is not coated.  See:

For those interested in buying authentic Cath Kidston bags, their online store is currently on sale.  They offer worldwide shipping, for a fixed fee of 20 UK pounds.  I'm buying some accessories myself, but to be safe (from the black hole that is our postal system), I'm having them all shipped to Johnny Air's Cargo service in the U.S.  Better be safe than sorry.

(This is one of the few times that I'm putting watermarks on my pictures.  I don't want some unscrupulous Ebay seller to use these pictures to sell fake bags)
