I cannot vouch for the second statement, but I can definitely confirm that the first statement is so true.  I should never ever visit a mall when I'm in a dour mood because I usually come home with stuff like this:

Ray-Ban Wayfarer Square sunglasses (I don't want to say how much!)

One rainy Saturday afternoon, I found myself at SM Makati looking at all the sunglasses on display.  Within thirty minutes  I decided to purchase the new Ray-Ban Wayfarer Square (idol ko si Tom Cruise haha) and I became a few thousand pesos poorer.

(In fairness, I've been wanting to buy a pair of heavy duty sunglasses for a long time now.  And I didn't pay the whole amount in full, thanks to SM's three/six months' zero-interest promo.  Yay.)

The real reason for this post is that my purchase of the Wayfarers came with this free gift, which apparently is worth P1,000.00 in value (though I honestly doubt that claim):

The gift box includes a t-shirt (with a design similar to the the one on the box), three buttons (S, M, L) and a roomy canvas bag.  The items are cute, but I truly have no use for them, especially the t-shirt which will probably fit a size 2 or size 4 (and I am nowhere near that size!  Wahaha!).  Plus, I'm trying to de-clutter my closet (shameless plug:  please check out my multiply site for items on sale... mostly purchases that I've never used)

Since I'm not comfortable selling (or re-gifting) something that I got for free, I'm giving the Ray-Ban freebies away to anyone who wants it!  The first person who replies to this entry with her name and email address gets it, provided less than ten people express interest in the gift within 48 hours.  If more than ten people reply within 48hours, I'll choose a winner by raffle.  I might even add some other things in the "prize".
