Hits and Misses

I'm back!  Actually, I never really went away.  Life has just been so busy.  It seems that work always goes on overdrive whenever I'm about to go on a long vacation.  Anyway, moving on...

Remember my new year's resolutions?  I've been a good girl and I've been keeping my word on most of those resolutions.  I will regularly update on my progress (especially the losing weight and cleaning my room part, but those will be dealt with in another entry).  For now, I will update on the other part which I have not been that successful with:  clothes shopping.  Sigh.

And here's why I broke my shopping ban:

Milk & Co. has been around for a long time, and I've actually bought quite a few clothes from this store over the years (especially from that old branch in Glorietta 2).   The brand is from the same company as Kamiseta (Shoppes Manila, Inc.), but Milk & Co.'s clothes are considerably cheaper and more casual than Kamiseta's.

Anyway, I recently discovered that Milk & Co. is now into direct selling, and that you get the clothes about 10-20% cheaper if you buy direct from their authorized dealers.  Similar to Avon, Sophie Martin, Natasha and those other catalogue/direct sellers.  I've never bought clothes from a catalogue before, only because I think catalogue pictures are deceiving... they make everything look nicer than they are in real life!  Also, what looks good a model may not necessarily look good on me.  But I still decided to take the risk, since I really like the fit of Milk & Co. clothes and I know my size perfectly.

So how did I do on my first catalogue shopping spree?  Not bad!  Here are the pieces that met my expectations:

Miranda cap-sleeved top, P699

This one is too cute (and maybe not age appropriate haha).  I think this was P549, but it's no longer available in their online catalogue.

The lace on the sleeves make this a little dressier.  It's P449, if I recall correctly.  Unfortunately, no longer available from their catalogue but it may still be in stores.

This last one, I'm not too fond of.  The cloth used is so thin and flimsy.  Good thing it was only P349.

Overall, I'm pleased with my first foray into catalogue shopping.  I'd highly recommend Milk & Co. for a first timer, because you won't be disappointed with the selection and the quality of the products.  I'm actually tempted now to become a member of Milk & Co. and be a direct seller....membership is just about P200 and you get 22% discount on catalogue price.  And you don't really have to actively sell, I've been told.  You can become a member for personal consumption. Sounds good to me!

[For those who entered my Rayban freebie contest, I'll announce the winner in my next entry.  Exactly ten people joined, so I have to draw a winner :)]

  1. The last shirt is so cute, sadly it's sheer. Try using a white or cream tube underneath.

  2. I like a lot of stuff from Milk & Co, I often browse when I pass by the store at Festival mall. Nice buys- my fave is the 2nd photo, with the heart prints. :)

  3. Justin: It is so cute, moreso because I love ribbon prints. I wish the cloth used was a little less sheer.

Ida: That's my favorite one too! It's so Rachel Berry (my style icon, which says a lot about how totoy my style is haha). Anyway, I'm never buying in store again since I can get their close cheaper from dealers.
