Before I took this three-week vacation to the United States, I (not-so-secretly) hoped for three things to happen while I am here:
Number 1: That iPad 2 will become available - Score! I'm now counting the days until March 11!
Number 2: Spot a celebrity in person - No luck yet. Chicago is unfortunately not brimming with celebrities unlike L.A. or N.Y.C., so if I want to make this happen, I may have to stalk Oprah's home.
Number 3: See and feel snow falling on my head - Finally happened last Saturday. And now I'm wondering why I ever wished this. The snow was so bad (for my standards) that I got a little bit sick last weekend. I am not built for that kind of weather!
And that's why I have nothing much to report. The weather has been uncooperative so all I've been to are indoor places, a.k.a. malls. And my wallet is hurting in the process.
So this is a good opportunity, while I'm being lazy in posting, to recommend some of my daily blog reads. My recommendations for today are my favorite "mommy" blogs.
First up is The Closet Optimist, the blog of my real life friend, Gladi. I read all the blogs of my real life friends to be updated on their lives, as I don't see them very often anymore. But I also enjoy reading Gladi's blog because I share her fascination with clothes and shoes and other girly things. And of course, I also like to read about the adventures of her cute little son (and my godson), Malik. (Oh, and if you're a John Lloyd Cruz fan, you would love her blog. Trust me.)
My other favorite is Making It Lovely, the blog of Nicole Balch, an Illinois-based mom who keeps a stationery business on the side. I first discovered this blog while looking for closet organizing ideas, and this was truly helpful. I've been hooked on her blog ever since. Her entire home is amazing and I really admire her decorating eye... she's like a modern Martha Stewart! She lives in Oak Park (where I am right now)... hmmm, I wonder if she ever goes downtown?
I invite all young moms (and moms-to-be) to read those two blogs. I guarantee you will enjoy them. :)

ReplyDeleteAwww. Thanks to you, Malik has just increased his chances of attaining super showbiz stardom. BTW, I've been visiting your blog everyday in hopes of hearing about THE OUTLET SHOPPING. Common!
