Birthday Wishlist

This worked out relatively well previously (I got 3 out of five on that list, my friends and family know me too well or.... they read this blog!), so I might as well do it again.  It's my birthday month, after all!

In no particular order:

1.  Kate Spade Essex Scout Satchel - I finally saw this bag today in person.  And my want has not subsided.   I need, I want, I have to have this bag!  It's haunting my dreams!  But at P19,950 less 10% SSI discount, it's still a hefty price to pay for a bag that I'll probably be using on weekends only (who uses a hot pink bag to the office? not me!)

The cheaper alternative is to order a similar bag from the Cambridge Satchel company, in their new fluorescent pink color.  The 11-inch satchel is about the same size as the Kate Spade bag, and costs £98.00 only (about P6,800.00).  I can even have my initials embossed in gold for an additional £15.00, plus 2-day shipping to Johnny Air US costs just £6.00.  All in all that's just about P8,300.00, still less than half the price of the Kate Spade bag!  And I can attest to the quality of these bags, having just bought one a few weeks ago (more on that in another entry, probably)

Still, I like the slightly muted pink of the Kate Spade bag more, but is it worth the extra P10,000.00?  Or should I wait until that bag goes on sale (or will it ever go on sale)?

2.  Cath Kidston Tiny Rose Pumps - Apparently, Cath Kidston sells footwear.  And not just footwear, but adorable footwear.  I know I don't need another pair of ballet flats, but how can I resist these?  Pwede na for £18.00 (or about P1,250.00)

3.  Tempur Pillow - I cannot justify paying P6,000.00 for a pillow.  So I'll just have to wish somebody buys this for me. (it's a necessity more than a luxury, my neck and shoulders ache so much recently... signs of old age? haha)

The cheaper alternative from Muji is "just" about P2,000.00.   Why can't anyone make therapeutic pillows within my budget?!?

4.   And finally....another bag!  The Le Sportsac Every Girl Tote in Yacht Dot Print

Likewise, I cannot justify paying P4,600.00 for a bag made of nylon.  Even if it's this cute and reminds me of Minnie Mouse.   This is actually just US$78.00 (or about P3,500.00 converted) as stated on the Le Sportsac website, but as usual, Rustan's mark-up is exagg.

Ok, so that's more like a "wishful thinking" list rather than a wishlist.  Still, it's fun to dream! :)

Happy birthday to all my fellow April celebrants!

  1. Hi. How do you get a 10% from SSI? Is there something needed to be accumulated of purchases?

  2. Poise.exhibit: it's a BPI rewards card, I think they give this to depositors of a minimum amount. I get 10% discount in all SSI stores including Kate Spade, Gucci, Lacoste etc...

  3. I see. Thank you for enlightening me. Though, do you need to make the purchase with your BPI credit card or just show them something?

  4. poise.exhibit: You need to have the BPI Rewards Gold card to get the discount. If you don't have that card, you can't get the 10% discount even if you have a BPI card. Like I said, the rewards card is given to depositors of a certain amount, I just don't know how much.

Card is valid for cash and credit card purchases. I've used it for Kate Spade, Gucci and Lacoste and some other SSI shops as well.

  6. Mel!

Go get the Kate Spade bag! Since its SSI, there's O% interest 3 months installment! Woohoo! So it will look cheaper in your credit card bill hehe. Though the BPI discount does not apply to credit card purchases yata... Plus it's a nicer kind of pink.

By the way, I do use a (kinda) hot pink bag in the office .... :-) As proof thereof, I will use it the next time I see you!
